Fun End-of-Year Activities That Require Almost No Prep!

Hello Teachers,

Stephen King once described the exhaustion of teaching as feeling like he had “jumper cables clamped to [his] brain” by the end of the week.

I feel that—except my “jumper cable” moment hits around Wednesday. By Friday, I need full roadside assistance.

Even the best teachers get overstimulated. This isn’t a classroom management issue. It isn’t a failure of the teacher.

It’s the environment.

This time of year, the noise, the pace, and the constant demands start to pile up. Feeling exhausted and overstimulated right now isn’t unusual—it’s expected.

So if you’re feeling it, you’re not alone. The finish line is in sight.

Here are a few end-of-the-year activities that might help you and your students finish strong.

The Creative Teacher Newsletter “I have come to believe that a great teacher is a great artist and that there are as few as there are any other great artists. Teaching might even be the greatest of the arts since the medium is the human mind and spirit.” — John Steinbeck My Story After four years of teaching, I felt stuck. Professional development bored me. Student behavior drained me. I showed up, did what I was told, and survived each day. I didn’t hate teaching, but I didn’t love it...
